Visiting the Palace
The Assembly of the Republic organises guided tours of São Bento Palace lasting approximately an hour and a half. These tours require booking in advance.
On working days (*), tours are primarily aimed at institutions at the different levels of education (starting with the fourth year of school) and for organised groups of citizens (between 10 and 50 people per tour).
São Bento Palace is also open to the public on the last Saturday of each month, providing guided tours requested by citizens individually or by small organised groups (maximum 15 people per group) starting at 15:00 and 16:00. The total number of people permitted per tour is 50. These tours are themed, and citizens can choose one of the following options:

Guided tours are scheduled by legislative session, usually starting on 15 September. Requests for tours during a new legislative session can be submitted from 15 August onwards, and can only be scheduled for the period in question from that time on.
Guided tours of São Bento Palace are free of charge.

Attending plenary sittings
Anyone may watch plenary sittings in person.
The galleries of the Session Chamber can be accessed from the Praça de São Bento door after showing an identity document at security control.
During sittings, the public present in the galleries must remain silent and refrain from speaking up or applauding.
Assembly of the Republic plenary sittings, as well as some parliamentary committee meetings, are broadcast live by the
Parliament Channel on the internet and the following cable and IPTV platforms: ZON, MEO and VODAFONE.

Passos Manuel Library
The Passos Manuel Library is accessible to all citizens who need to consult information that is not available in other libraries and documentation services, i.e. parliamentary information. However, it should be remembered that this is a specialised library, the main aim of which is to provide support for parliamentary proceedings. The Library is open from 9:00 to 18:00 on working days. On days of parliamentary proceedings (plenary sittings and parliamentary committees), the Library remains open until the end of the proceedings.

Parliamentary Historical Archives
The Parliamentary Historical Archives are located at São Bento Palace. The reading room is open to the public on all working days from 9:00 to 18:00, extending to the end of parliamentary proceedings on days when plenary sittings or committee meetings are held.
